MEET OUR PERIODONTIST

Dr. Trudy Nwachukwu

CERTIFIED SPECIALIST IN PERIODONTICS

Dr. Trudy Nwachukwu received her dental surgery degree in 2004. After practicing general dentistry for several years, she moved to Manitoba and completed a three-year specialty training program in Periodontics, graduating with a Masters of Dentistry, Periodontics, from the University of Manitoba in 2016. She is a board-certified specialist in periodontics.

Dr. Trudy is both Canadian and American boards certified. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She also teaches undergraduate dental students as a part-time faculty member at the University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry.

Dr. Trudy is a published author in scientific journals and has given multiple lectures/provided multiple continuing professional education events for the Saskatchewan dental community. She has partnered with the Canadian Dental Association to make periodontal videos/webinars to aid knowledge networking amongst dentists. She also collaborates regularly with the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan’s annual oral health conference where she serves as an invited speaker.

She is proud to offer the highest level of patient care to our community, and enjoys many recreational activities with her husband and three kids.

Our Hygienists

At the PerioCentre, our registered dental hygienists are all very experienced and they take care of our patients and maintain their optimum oral health through regular and thorough cleanings of teeth and dental implants, with the patients comfort a priority. They will also aid in oral hygiene instructions to ensure optimum care of your teeth and dental implants. They work closely with our specialists and help in detecting early signs of dental, periodontal and peri-implant disease as well as assist our patients in understanding the periodontal disease process (causes and prevention), and the impacts on overall systemic health.

Our Dental Assistants

At the PerioCentre, our dental assistants work directly with the specialists. They prepare the operatory, sterilize equipment, and ensure that our patients consultation visits go smoothly. They also assist the specialists chairside during patients surgical and non-surgical procedures, providing care and comfort in a pleasant and professional manner. They ensure that the clinical environment is clean, safe and very welcoming. The assistants help to communicate the doctor’s instructions and treatment plans to the administrative team to ensure your visits will flow as smoothly as possible.

Our Receptionists

At the PerioCentre, our administrative staff help to prepare patients for their first visit to our office, easing any concerns you may have. Our receptionists look forward to meeting you and helping you co-ordinate your appointments. They have a welcoming smile as you step in the front door, making you feel right at home. They are our front line of communication and can answer most of your questions. Their goal is to make sure you are smiling on the way in and out of your visit to our office.
